ROSIE BOWDEN

Rosie works as a director and facilitator across North East venues like Alphabetti Theatre, Newcastle Theatre Royal and Live Theatre.

Rosie has assistant directed at The Customs House, Live Theatre and on various small scale productions across the North East region and beyond. She has directed various short plays at Live Theatre. Full length credits include Where did all the magpies go? by Holly Readshaw at The Customs House  (2023) and Soapbox Racer by Ben Schwarz at Alphabetti Theatre (2023). Her company, Girl Next Door, created Head Girl which toured to various NE venues and the Edinburgh Fringe in 2022. She was the Associate Director on Gerry and Sewell at Newcastle Theatre Royal. 

Rosie has been working as a facilitator since 2021 and in that time has worked with hundreds of young people, from the ages of 3 to 25 at Newcastle Theatre Royal, Live Theatre and CAST in Northumberland. Her workshops tend to cover drama techniques and creative writing, sometimes making full length performances with young people. 

Roșie creates cabaret and community events (Lasses and New Folk on the block) under the name Rosy Cheek. These are affordable, accessible events that celebrate local women and non-binary folk, and bring people together. She also co-runs The Girls, Theys and Slays choir with Maya Torres.
